Apple announces new iMacs, MacBook & Mac mini

Apple today announced refreshes to the iMac, MacBook and Mac mini models, as well as the Magic Mouse, a touch-sensitive mouse that allows for the gestures iPhone and Mac trackpad users have become used to using.

The new iMac systems now come in 21.5-inch and 27-inch sizes, and utilize the 16:9 widescreen aspect ration LED-backlit displays, as well as 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors. The 27-inch iMac has an optional model equipped with a Quad-Core 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and a dedicated ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics processor with 512MB onboard memory.

The Macbook update gives curves to the white polycarbonate laptop, as well as a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of DDR3 memory, and a 250GB hard drive. The refresh brings the MacBook Pro's 7 hour battery life to the MacBook.

Also updated is the Mac mini - three different models: a 2.26GHz and 2.53GHz and a Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server. The small profile server has two 500GB hard drives (instead of a built-in optical drive), and comes pre-installed with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Server - perfect for small offices!

This on top of the epic sales of Macs and iPhones during the last quarter means things are looking good for the Mac!
