iPhone OS 3.0 released
Apple has officially released the long anticipated iPhone OS 3.0 software. The software addresses a number of highly critical security issues and includes numerous improvements and bug fixes. Most will be pleased with the feature long missing from the device: Copy, Cut & Paste. In addition, the update enables the landscape keyboard layout in Mail, Messages, Notes and Safari. Other features that debut with this release are Spotlight Search, Voice Memos, and improved calendar integration. Unfortunately, two features that are delivered as part of the iPhone OS 3.0 will not be active with the sole authorized US carrier AT&T: MMS messaging (coming later in 2009) and Internet Tethering (coming whenever they can figure out how to charge you money for it). Thanks, AT&T.
The LATimes has a nice rundown of the new software!
