Apple today announced the Airport Express wireless device will now have 802.11n, improving the range and speed of Apple's wifi offerings, and bringing the device in line with the other wireless networking products offered by Apple. Microsoft issues first update for Office 2008

The second Tuesday of every month is 'patch day' at Microsoft, and this month we get the first security update for Microsoft Office 2008. The Office 2008 for Mac 12.0.1 Update addresses a number of vulnerabilities in the product, as well as improving performance and reliability in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage. The update can be downloaded directly from Microsoft.

Apple announces iPhone 2.0 software, releases SDK

Apple today released the iPhone SDK to developers, and announced the impending iPhone 2.0 software. The iPhone 2.0 software, scheduled for a June release, will include support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync - assuring the iPhone will become an increasingly viable option against the enterprise-dominant BlackBerry devices.

new MacBook and MacBook Pro systems sport Penryn processors

Apple has updated their line of portable systems - the MacBook and MacBook Pro systems now include faster processors, larger hard drives, and 2GB of RAM on their fastest models. The updated systems rely on the tiny, but powerful, "Penryn" processors from Intel - the latest versions of the Core 2 Duo processors come in either a 2.1 GHz or 2.4 GHz configuration for the MacBook systems, and 2.4 GHz or 2.5 GHz for the MacBook Pro systems.
